Orchestral Harmony by Tupou Tertiary Institute and Kumamoto Prefecture

Thirteen students of the Tupou Tertiary Institute's School of Music visited the Embassy of Japan in Tonga on Thursday morning, 1 August 2019, to report their plan of visiting Kumamoto Prefecture in Japan to His Excellency Mr. Tetsuya Ishii, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga. Present also at the courtesy call were Rev.Dr.'Ungatea Kata, Director of the Institute and Mr.Save Mataele, Chief of the Orchestra, and Ms.Kaori Onoue, Music Instructor working as a JICA volunteer here in Tonga.
The students and directors are going to visit Japan next week with the schedule to participate in various concerts in Kumamoto city and Takamori town, some of which contain the collaboration with Japanese Orchestra.
This is the 1st time for this Prefecture to accept a visiting Orchestra from Tonga.
