Forth batch of Japan’s Emergency Relief Assistance arrived at Tonga

The forth batch of Japan’s emergency relief assistance to the Kingdom of Tonga arrived at the Fua’amotu International Airport on Saturday, 2nd February 2022, on an Air Self-Defense Force aircraft from Japan.
H.E. Mr. MUNENAGA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga and staffs of the JICA Office in Tonga welcomed the assistance to support Tonga’s recovery effort from the massive damages of volcanic eruption and the tsunami.
Based on the request from the Government of Tonga, Japan provided additional 2.5 tonnages of water and 50 High Pressure Cleaners on this aircraft. This was the last Japan’s assistance delivered by the Air Self-Defense Force aircraft, but Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force “OHSUMI” is on the way to Tonga to deliver more assistances.
Japan Air Self-Defense Force arrived on 22, 24, and 29 January with water, PPE, high presser water cleaners, and canned tuna.
