Commendation for much contributions to enhancing our people to people relations

On Friday 25 September 2020, Mr. Kilisimasi Ha’apai, former President of Tonga-Japan Alumni Association (TJAA), Mr. Minoru Nishi Jr., Managing Director of Nishi Trading Company Limited, and Mr. Koheleti Tupou, President of TJAA were bestowed the Ambassador’s Commendation, for his contribution to enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and the Kingdom of Tonga. Three awardees received the Certificate of Commendation from H.E. Mr. ISHII Tetsuya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga.
Mr. Ha’apai and Mr. Tupou have contributed to strengthened nexus between Japan and former Tongan students who studied in Japan. Mr. Nishi has contributed to enhancing economic relationship through exporting Tongan squash and actively participates in JICA’s technical assistance of breadfruit and nutrition project.
Held at the Japanese Ambassador’s official residence, the ceremony was attended by awardees’ family in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
