2023/6/12

On 9 June, H.E. Mr. MUNENAGA Kensaku, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga handed over a range of medical equipment to the Ministry of Health.
The medical equipment is provided through Non-Project Grant Aid, NPGA. The third (final) batch of this 1.5 million US Dollars’ worth NPGA includes 13 Medical Waste Containers, 6 Electrocardiograms, 3 ICU Beds, 8 Stretchers, 10 Wheel Chairs, 20 IV stands, 8 Syringe pumps, and 2 brand new Ambulances.
Japan has contributed to improve medical care and nutrition in Tonga for a long time. We will continue to strengthen Tonga’s medical system, providing medical equipment and support people’s efforts to be healthy by providing technical assistance for anti-Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) measurements.
