On 10 June, H.E. Mr. MUNENAGA Kensaku, Ambassador Extra Ordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga joined the 2023 Royal Agricultural, Fisheries, Tourism and Trade Show at the Tonga College 'Atele, with the presence of Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u.
The Ambassador was happy to see rich and varied agricultural and fishery products through the Show hosted after three years cancellation due to COVID-19 Pandemic. This year the Show is to be held in all the main islands.
Japan has supported Tonga’s primary industry, especially fishery sector since 1970s, and is assisting recovery and reconstruction of Tonga’s fishery from the damages by the HTHH volcanic eruption and tsunami. With the concept of “Build Back Better”, Tonga and Japan will continue to cooperate.
