Fifteen Japanese Students (APCC) visit Tonga
2019/4/1
Fifteen students from Fukuoka, Japan visited Nuku’alofa from 25 to 29 March under the Asian-Pacific Children’s Convention (APCC) Bridge Challenge Trip 2019.
The students visited the Embassy of Japan on Tuesday morning, 26 March 2019. Three APCC leaders accompanied the students along with senior officials from their host Ministry, Tonga’s Ministry of Education and Training.
H.E Mr. Tetsuya Ishii, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga, welcomed the Japanese students and introduced Tonga, as well as Tonga-Japan relations. He was pleased to hear students’ impression of Tonga and wished them to make good memories in Tonga. He also hoped that they bring the experience back to Japan and share it with their families and friends. And other Embassy members also introduced their jobs to students.
The young delegations were looking forward to enjoying and experiencing the cultural exchanges with Tongan students, before returning home.
The Fukuoka Junior Chamber of Japan founded the APCC in 1989, as a grass-roots movement with the objective primarily for children of Japan and from Asia and Pacific region to gain mutual understanding of different cultures and traditions, through homes stays and cultural exchanges.
Four young primary students from Tonga will enjoy APCC invitation trip to Japan in July.
